Pure Global has appointed Ran Chen as Chief Technology Officer (CTO) to boost its artificial intelligence initiatives in medical device regulation. Chen, who has more than ten years of experience building AI and machine learning products, will immediately assume responsibility for advancing Pure Global’s technology vision, particularly focusing on automating key steps of global regulatory compliance.
Medical device companies increasingly face complicated and slow regulatory approval processes. Delays can significantly affect patient access to critical medical technologies and create financial strain for manufacturers. Pure Global addresses these challenges by using AI to automate essential tasks such as document translations, data classification, and regulatory submissions. Chen’s role will be central to refining and expanding these capabilities, helping MedTech companies get their products to market more quickly.
“With Ran as CTO, we’re accelerating our ability to build and scale the tools our clients need," said DJ Fang, Co-founder and COO of Pure Global. “The impact is already clear as our AI agents are showing strong results across translation, classification, and document building.”
Previously, Chen served as Director of Engineering for Machine Learning at Tubi TV, where he established and grew the company’s machine learning team. His leadership enabled the creation of more than 70 real-time models, significantly enhancing personalized content delivery and positioning Tubi as a major ad-supported streaming service in the U.S.
In his new role, Chen will prioritize enhancing Pure Global’s agentic AI systems and strengthening its data infrastructure. He aims to accelerate the development of tools for classification, translation, document generation, and regulatory gap analysis—all key components of the regulatory approval process. Chen will also collaborate closely with clients to ensure that the platform meets their evolving requirements and effectively scales to new markets.
“I’m excited to join Pure Global and apply my machine learning experience to medical device regulation, a space where technology can make a real difference,” said Ran Chen. “My focus is on using agentic AI to reduce delays and simplify global market access. We build every tool with one goal in mind: helping our clients move faster with less friction.”
Chen’s arrival is part of Pure Global’s strategic shift towards fully embracing AI technology. Over the past two years, Pure Global has also built an extensive international presence, creating legal entities and forming partnerships in more than 30 countries. Combining localized regulatory expertise with intelligent AI tools, Pure Global now offers a faster, more efficient pathway for medical device companies aiming to expand globally. Chen’s diverse background in scaling AI solutions will provide valuable insights into overcoming regulatory hurdles, further advancing Pure Global’s commitment to improving access to healthcare innovations worldwide.
