Irish startup Kota, formerly known as Yonder, has made a significant stride by securing €5 million in seed funding. The funding round was spearheaded by EQT Ventures, with participation from Northzone and Frontline Ventures, among others.

Kota is on a mission to reshape how employers provide and manage employee benefits, making it more accessible and efficient. The infusion of fresh capital will fuel the company's expansion, enabling it to enhance its platform, extend its presence in different countries, and streamline the administration of employee benefits.

Kota is also thrilled to announce the launch of its API product, a groundbreaking development that empowers platforms and developers to seamlessly integrate financial benefit products, starting with Health Insurance, into their own services.

Founded in 2022 by Luke Mackey, James McGann, Deepak Baliga, and Patrick O’Boyle, Kota presents a comprehensive platform that automates the management of insurance and retirement benefits for contemporary workforces.

It simplifies the complexities of handling various financial benefits from multiple providers on a global scale. Through Kota, companies can effortlessly access health, retirement, life insurance options from top-tier providers worldwide. Real-time enrollment, flexible contribution management, and a user-friendly employee app are all integrated into a single, user-centric platform. Additionally, Kota opens up its technology for other platforms and developers to offer these financial benefits within their own products.

Luke Mackey, Co-Founder, and CEO of Kota, emphasized, “Kota is pioneering a platform that streamlines workflows through data synchronization and reconciliation. We are collaborating with leading health, life, and pension providers to offer employees the benefits they deserve.”

Naza Metghalchi, Principal at EQT Ventures, shared, “Kota is creating a new category by providing the critical infrastructure for the distribution of financial products, especially when employees increasingly rely on their workplaces to access these services. We have been impressed by Luke, Patrick, and Deepak's ability to execute quickly and are enthusiastic about their long-term vision.”
